In the Chaos, I Find Rest

{click here to "Jam" with  Faith on Thursdays: www.faithbarista.com}

I'm not quite sure how to articulate my thought pattern at the moment.  Numerous thoughts, ideas, doubts, fears, suggestions and possible solutions are running through my mind.  I become overwhelmed.  I begin to speak God's promises.  I find rest.

Our son hasn't thought through his homework assignment.  I ask, "did you read the directions carefully?"  "No Mam".  In a firm parental tone I begin; "haven't we told you to read the directions carefully; if you don't understand, ask questions.  I  get tired of"....I pause.  Holding back my growing frustration,  I begin to speak God's promises.  I find rest.

In the chaos of my everyday life, I am thankful that I am, can and will continue to find rest in the community of God's word.

"Choose Life"

Until next time....

  3. Oh Mrs. Gertha, have I been there! Keep speaking those promises, though. And trust that God will come through. That's your way to perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).

    "Choose life" reminds me of Deut. 30:19-20. Girl that was my scripture for a good minute, that I would read over and over. (actually the whole chapter is VERY encouraging!)

    Keep pushing forward and leaning and depending on God. He will hold you up. Take care and may God bless you.

    love,
    Stacie

  6. Hi Stacie,

    Yes, it is Deu. 30:19. I posted about it on March 8, 2011. I admire Courtney's promise/motto; "Walk with the King" and Anglea's "Love God Greatly". After much thought and prayer, I was given my promise/motto "Choose Life" from Deu.30:19

    His promises are soooo powerful. Thank you for the blog compliment, encouragement and the promise of Isaiah 26:3(:.

    Glad you stopped by girl! Take care and be Blessed.
